Daniel I. Weinstein is the CEO of Basis Industrial. Prior to founding Basis, Dan founded Urban Storage Fund headquartered in Pennsylvania with regional development offices in Delray Beach FL, Austin TX and New York City, Urban Storage Fund is a real estate private equity fund focused on developing and acquiring institutional grade self-storage product in select urban core markets throughout the United States. Urban’s current portfolio consists of approximately half a million square feet of self-storage between New York City and Miami. Prior to forming Urban Mr. Weinstein was the US Acquisitions Manager for Public Storage, the largest publicly traded self-storage REIT, throughout the Eastern United States. In this capacity, Mr. Weinstein oversaw real estate acquisitions for the company throughout the region, where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing, negotiating, and closing direct purchase, joint venture, and partnership real estate opportunities in markets from New England to Florida and Illinois to Texas.
Jay Massirman serves as Co-Chairman for Basis Industrial and is the founder and President of Rivergate Companies, a management, investment, development and advisory firm headquartered in Miami, Florida. Jay has 30 years’ experience in real estate spanning the capital markets, investment and equity raising sectors. Prior to forming Rivergate Companies, Jay spent 20 years with CBRE, a global real estate service provider. As a Vice Chairman, he was a perennial top producer and was actively involved in the sale and financing of more than 400 transactions of all product types with an aggregate value in excess of $10 billion.
Stephen Garchik is Co-Chairman of Basis Industrial and has been a real estate developer and owner for 37 years. In that time he and his partners at The Evans Company of McLean, Virginia and subsequently at SJM Partners Inc. of Delray Beach, Florida have developed approximately 4,000,000 sq. ft. of office space, 2,500,000 sq. ft. of residential properties, 5,000,000 sq. ft. of self-storage projects, 1,500,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 500,000 sq. ft. of industrial product. Mr. Garchik serves on the board of several non-profit institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Science and M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Anthony Scavo joined Basis in August 2021, he has over 28 years of real estate development & construction experience and now serves as the COO of the firm. Anthony started his career at the LeFrak Organization based in NYC where he spent 25+ years. At LeFrak he worked on and/or oversaw all Construction & Development activities in the NYC metro area where he developed and built over 3000+ rental apartment units, 1000+ hotel rooms, 500+ condo units, 5,000,000+ square feet of office space and numerous single story big box, retail and mixed-use buildings for the LeFrak family and companies. Anthony then moved to Red Apple Group where he spent 2 years, where he oversaw the Preconstruction of the tallest mixed-use building on the West Coast of Florida in the Tampa/St. Pete area. He also served as head of facilities and technical services for all the multiple business units under the Red Apple Group umbrella.
LeslieWallaceChief Accounting Officer
serves as Chief Accounting Officer of Basis Industrial, overseeing all accounting and financial functions for the company. She has spent the majority of her career in finance and accounting for real estate enterprises, serving as Chief Financial Officer of SJM Partners Inc. since 2015. Prior to that, Leslie spent 25 years in finance and accounting roles within The Oliver Carr Company, a Washington DC-based privately-owned real estate operating and investment entity. She started her career in public accounting with Councilor Buchanan & Mitchell, a Bethesda, Maryland based accounting firm. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
AdamHalemManaging Director of Technology and Storage Acquisitions
serves as Managing Director of Technology & Storage Acquisitions for Basis and brings 10+ years of data analysis and software project management to the position. He currently leads self-storage acquisitions, project underwriting and sourcing models. Adam is from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and earned a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey school of Business and a M.S. in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
AhmadElayyanManaging Director of Acquisitions and Underwriting
Currently serves as Managing Director – Acquisitions and Underwriting and is primarily focused on small-bay industrial. Ahmad is responsible for underwriting, originating, and evaluating new investment opportunities. Prior to Basis, he worked at CP Group, a privately held real estate investment company focusing on value-add and core-plus opportunities throughout Florida and Texas. His previous experience includes managing acquisitions and asset management at Drawbridge Realty Trust, where he managed 5MM SF and acquired $1bn+ in single-tenant office deals. Ahmad began his career in Commercial Real Estate at Wells Fargo and currently holds a B.A. in economics from UCLA.
MackenzieMaherManaging Director of Construction & Development
currently serves as Managing Director of Construction & Development. Prior to Basis, Mackenzie worked in preconstruction and operations at KAST Construction in Tampa, Florida and Suffolk Construction in Boston, Massachusetts. Mackenzie brings over 7 years of commercial construction experience to the position, having worked across a diverse market sector including multi-family, aviation, healthcare, office, and warehouse construction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire.

serves as Director of Construction and Development for Basis Industrial working on both self-storage and industrial projects throughout their various stages of development. She is a graduate of Syracuse University with a B.S. in Real Estate. Growing up around residential real estate development, Zoe has always had a passion for the industry and is excited to be a part of the Basis team, navigating the intricate phases of construction and development.

Prior to Basis, Chevy spent 3 years as Head of Investor Relations for GMF Capital, a large real estate private equity firm. GMF closed over 100 transactions during Mrs Isaacson’s tenure. While at GMF, Chevy oversaw investor funding, transaction closings and investor reporting. Total equity transactions during Mrs. Isaacson’s tenure was over $1,100,000,000. Chevy is an expert in IMS and financial reporting and heads the investor relations, asset management and equity syndication efforts at Basis.

serves as Managing Director, Human Resources and brings 14 years of experience in the financial services Industry. Lori is from the New York metropolitan area where she earned her B.B.A. in Accounting from Pace University Lubin School of Business. In her career Lori has worked at Morgan Stanley and American Express doing transfer pricing and tax law. Lori now oversees the Human Resources department and is a results-focused leader who delivers talent acquisition, retention and motivation solutions that helps Basis harness the full power of one of their most valuable assets – their people.
